TUV SUD – Case Study

Iconic Resourcing was approached by the Head of Controlling to assist with supporting a crucial finance vacancy to join their high-performing finance function in East Kilbride. Despite extensive efforts and several interviews over a 5-month period, TUV SUD decided that the more traditional methods of recruitment were proving unfruitful and made the decision to pivot their approach. It was at this point our Accountancy and Finance team assumed sole responsibility on a retained and exclusive basis as this position became increasingly critical to fulfil.
Strategy and Objectives
Our Accountancy and Finance team initially took time to understand TUV SUD’s values and goals as a business, as well as specific information around the people, culture, and team that the successful candidate would be joining. With regards to the role itself, we took a deep dive into the duties and responsibilities, and how this role would add value to the team. We also mapped the candidate profile, looking at the skills, experience, drive, and mindset required for this position, keeping TUV SUD’s emphasis on culture fit as a priority when welcoming a new member to the team.
Thereafter, we created a branded advert and a detailed candidate pack to bring the role to life for interested candidates, allowing them a deeper insight into the role and TUV SUD’s offering. Feedback from candidates highlighted that the role stood out in the market compared to others at this level, and they were more engaged in the hiring process as a result of a more detailed overview of TUV SUD’s vision, which excited the candidates about participating in our unique hiring process.
Iconic Resourcing carried out a thorough head hunt, where we also conducted the first stage interviews resulting in reducing the hiring manager’s time extensively. With use of our video technology, we were able to provide a personality to each applicant’s CV, bringing their profile to life, and providing a robust shortlist.
Solution and Outcome
After the hiring manager had reviewed the shortlist, we moved ahead to 2nd and final stage face-to-face interviews with 3 out of the 4 submitted candidates. Working hand in hand with TUV SUD’s Head of Controlling throughout the entire recruitment process, we were able to appoint their new team member. During the candidate’s notice period, an exciting last-minute business change occurred, and the Head of Controlling was keen to welcome an additional finance professional to the East Kilbride team over the following month. Due to our extensive shortlist with the original role, a candidate was also taken from this, resulting in a quick and quality streamlined process.
