Event Spotlight: CIM Scotland Conference
Earlier this month, we attended the CIM Scotland Conference at The Social Hub in Glasgow – a B Corp™ venue and a fitting backdrop for a day focused on responsible marketing. Huge congratulations to the team at CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing for hosting their first large-scale Scottish conference – it was a brilliant day!

The theme, Unlocking the Commercial Advantage of Responsible Marketing, brought together a powerful line-up of speakers including Sam Gardner, Alice Brady, Caroline Bates, Barrington Reeves, and Dr Elaine Ritch, with Nicky Logue leading thought-provoking panel discussions.
We’re proud to support events that bring together Scotland’s vibrant marketing community and champion ethical, sustainable business practices.

Marketing Recruitment Trends in Scotland
We were delighted to successfully place an array of roles in Marketing this quarter, including positions within Communications, Sales, Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing & Brand. Recent research highlights several key trends influencing marketing in Scotland right now:

  • More personalisation: Businesses are using smart tools to make their marketing feel more personal, authentic and simple, whilst tailoring to difference audiences.
  • Values matter: People want to buy from brands that care about the same things they do – like sustainability, fairness, and honesty. Marketing that shows real values is making a big impact.
  • Real stories win: Brands are focusing more on telling genuine stories that connect with people emotionally, especially during uncertain times.
  • Staying resilient: Despite economic challenges, many Scottish are staying strong and adapting their marketing to keep customers engaged.

As we move into the final quarter of the calendar, we’re seeing a noticeable rise in FTC (Fixed-Term Contract) and temporary opportunities across several sectors. Businesses are planning ahead and building flexibility into their teams, especially in marketing, project delivery, and operations.

If you’re thinking about a career move, now is a great time to start conversations. Many companies are already hiring for January starts, so getting ahead now means you’ll be ready to hit the ground running in the new year.

Please feel free to contact Robyn Christie at robyn.christie@iconicresourcing.com to discuss current opportunities.
